Marcus Liwicki
The Touch & Write project was initiated by Marcus Liwicki, who created the table. He also began with the development of the first applications on the environment. The first project was to enhanced the existing photo organiser application to allow for handwritten comments and annotations.

Marcus Liwicki received his M.S. degree in Computer Science from the Free University of Berlin, Germany, in 2004, and his PhD degree from the University of Bern, Switzerland, in 2007. Currently he is a senior researcher and lecturer at the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI). His research interests include knowledge management, semantic desktop, electronic pen-input devices, on-line and off-line handwriting recognition and document analysis.
